Fire prevention and public education programs have a significant impact on the overall rate of fires. The Spencer Fire Department provides classroom visits for children in preschool thru fourth grade. There are also fire education programs available for senior citizens in the community.  We also hold an annual open house at the fire station for the citizens of the community to stop by and visit with their firefighters and see the equipment that is available.
